I am frightened… By Bech Majok

Displaced Mapuordit via Philippa“During the month of March there was a terrible conflict between the two communities – the Mapuordit and the Mvolo residents. The conflict started between cattle keepers and was spread all over the residential places. Young men from both sides attacked each other, killed people and burnt their houses in the two areas. Now many innocent people on both sides are displaced to bushes where they face wild animals, environmental changes and lack of water and food for survival. On my side as a student I was displaced to at least 7 miles away from the school. All my school stationary, dressings and other school equipment were lost. I have to walk on foot 4 hours to school in the morning and home after school in the evening and night. I am frightened when I move to school through bushes. I am not able to attend afternoon and evening studies and other activities after school. Me and my family we have a lack of food. All money we had before were wasted during the incident.”
