New Scholars, founded in California by a Sudanese former refugee and now Stanford graduate Samuel Garang Akau and his colleague, Darius Golkar, exists to provide scholarships for entrepreneurial business training to Sudanese refugees in Kenya. In addition, New Scholars provides leadership training to each cohort of awardees during their academic break times.
