Christopher Jenkins' short documentary about our work in South Sudan will be featured at the Santa Barbara 2012 International Film Festival end of this month.
RefugePoint, HORN OF AFRICA
RefugePoint (formerly MAPENDO International) was founded in 2005 by Sasha Chanoff to be a lifeline for forgotten refugees who “fall between the cracks” and have not qualified for organized resettlement efforts. With offices in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Nairobi, Kenya, RefugePoint has earned widespread acclaim for its effective action on behalf of vulnerable refugee women and children.
Sister Marilyn of Mercy Beyond Borders and Sasha Chanoff both worked with the Lost Boys of Sudan at Kakuma refugee camp in northern Kenya.
Susan Sarandon now champions RefugePoint's mission; the organization has already secured fellowships and support from Draper-Richards and Echoing Green Foundations. For detailed information on the work of RefugePoint visit www.refugepoint.org
Mercy Beyond Borders stands ready to partner with RefugePoint on specific cases of vulnerable refugee women or girls.
