Beatrice
War forced Beatrice to flee South Sudan and rebuild her life in a refugee settlement in Uganda. With MBB’s support, she graduated from secondary school and attends university studying business administration.
Now in her second year, Beatrice is succeeding academically and helping newer MBB Scholars adjust to university life. During school breaks, she returns to the refugee settlement, where she mentors young people and advocates for girls’ education through a radio broadcast.
She is also creating greater financial stability for herself and her family. Beatrice works in the family garden to reduce her food costs at university, saved part of her MBB pocket money to invest in chickens she can sell during the holidays, and is bringing her established hair braiding business to campus.
With MBB beside her, Beatrice is moving toward her degree while creating income, guiding other students, and advocating for girls’ education in her community.
